Chillaxation, A Two-Legged Dog, and Flying Without Radar
So how’s it going this week? Busy as usual? All kinds of stuff driving you nuts as usual?
Okay. Here’s the deal. It’s time for your one minute of chillaxation. (Translation: chill + relaxation).
I take one minute out of every hour that I’m working to chillax. C’mon now! You deserve one minute out of an hour, don’t you?
ONE MINUTE.
Is it really going to hurt you to stop what you’re doing for one lousy minute? Let me answer that for you. NO. I bet you daydream longer than that.
How many hours do you work everyday? 8…10…12…more than that? That’s around 720 minutes or more.
From now on one minute out of every hour is yours.
Stop whatever you’re doing. Close your office door. Go outside…go to the bathroom or just close your eyes and stay where you are.
Take a deep breath and hold it for 10 seconds. Then exhale for ten seconds. That’s 20 seconds. Do this three times and there’s your minute of chillaxation.
During this moment you will only be imagining a completely relaxing scenario for you.
Getting a massage, chillin’ on the beach, 9AM tee time, fishing, curled up reading a good book, or some good old-fashioned, couch-potato, TV watching, napping on and off, on a lazy afternoon. Or whatever tickles your fancy.
Go ahead and do it right now. Everything else can wait for one minute. It will all still be here.
Why are you still reading? The rest of this article will still be here. Your work will still be here. Your spouse, your kids, the dog, the cat, the bird, the fish, and whatever else can wait.
Take your minute. You deserve it.
On another note, just when you thought you'd seen it all...
A couple of weeks ago I was walking through our living room headed to my home office. I caught a glimpse of some talk show that my wife was watching. I couldn't believe my eyes.
I asked Renee, "Did I just see what I think I saw?" With a look of astonishment on her face she replied, "Yeah”.
What I saw was a two-legged dog walking upright like a human! I know what you're thinking and I was thinking the same thing when I saw it.
WHAT?!
The dog is named Faith. Faith was born with only one front leg, which was severely deformed. Eventually because of atrophy that leg was removed.
The talk show host asked the owner how she was able to teach Faith to walk upright. The owner said...
